ֱ APL Named as One of IDG’s Computerworld 2018 ‘Best Places to Work in IT’

The ֱ University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland, has been named one of .

APL was ranked number 16 among large organizations on the list. This year there are 59 large, 21 midsize and 20 small organizations.

Starting in 1994, The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals created by IDG’s Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

“These are the results from surveying the Laboratory’s Information Technology Services Department staff members themselves, and creating a great work environment is also something our staff achieved together. Each ITSD staff member helped us become part of this exclusive ranking,” said APL’s Michael Misumi, head of ITSD. “I’m very grateful to each one of them. In ITSD we continue to focus on making a difference: by creating the digital workplace that allows APL staff members to innovate for our sponsors. It’s an exciting journey.”
