BioDr. Steven Storck is the chief scientist for additive manufacturing in the Research and Exploratory Development Department. He has more than 10 years of experience in materials development for additive manufacturing and computational design. He currently leads an effort focused on laser-processing of nickel titanium shape-memory alloys for tailored actuation for deployable structures. Additionally, he leads several efforts to develop novel materials, including metal matrix composites and refractory metals using laser-processing techniques, topology optimization, and process modification for functional material enhancement. Additional areas of expertise include high-temperature materials, materials synthesis, metallurgy, multifunctional materials, stimulus-responsive materials, and topology optimization.
