Bio
BioDr. Musad Haque leads the fault management team on NASA’s Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) mission. Prior to IMAP, he primarily worked on the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, NASA’s first planetary defense test mission. He started as a member of the SMART Nav team and was part of DART’s integration and testing team, working on the mission’s guidance, navigation, and control; autonomy; and fault management teams. Dr. Haque’s background is in the coordination of multiagent systems, including research on how to transition collective behaviors found in nature to artificial, networked systems. His research has appeared in IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, European Conference on AI, and the Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems. Beyond spacecraft fault management and autonomy, his current research interests lie in the area of distributed artificial intelligence, particularly its application to space. Dr. Haque has been a part of a number of independent research and development efforts at APL that utilize multiagent systems theory, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to conceptualize intelligent constellations. He also teaches artificial intelligence in ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ University’s Department of Computer Science.
