BioDr. Jerry A. Krill is the assistant director for science and technology and chief technology officer of the ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). Previously, Dr. Krill served as APL’s assistant director for programs, as head of the Power Projection Systems Department, and as APL’s executive for air and missile defense programs. Dr. Krill co-conceived and served as APL’s systems engineer for the Navy’s Cooperative Engagement Capability. He led the Navy/Ballistic Missile Defense Organization Concept Formulation Working Group in a presidentially directed study of the Navy’s role in ballistic missile defense. Dr. Krill holds 22 patents and has written over 100 papers and major technical documents. He serves on the ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ Whiting School of Engineering’s advisory board, was inducted into the Clark School Innovation Hall of Fame at the University of Maryland, College Park, and served on the National Academies’ Naval Studies Board. Dr. Krill earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland.
