Bio
BioDr. Elizabeth P. Reilly is the supervisor of the Complex Systems Group in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development Mission Area. Her research focuses on graph theoretic analysis of intelligent systems. Her recent work lives at the intersection of artificial intelligence with complex systems such as Earth systems, materials, biological systems, neuroscience, and more. Her projects include modeling global greenhouse gas emissions from various economic sectors and assessing vulnerabilities of an increasingly renewable energy grid. She has also studied the brain to revolutionize the future of computing, worked on developing theory for understanding and effecting emergent behavior in complex networks, and modeled the complex relationship between food security and civil conflict.
