BioDonna Gregg is head of the Asymmetric Operations Sector at the ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), responsible for approximately 1,600 staff across three mission areas focused on advancing the nation’s ability to defeat the asymmetric threat, whether human-made or naturally occurring. Areas of focus span countering weapons of mass destruction, offensive cyber, biological threats, and terrorism, including through the advancement and use of data science. Previously, Ms. Gregg served as APL’s mission area executive for Cyber Operations, where she managed the stand-up of the National Information Assurance Engagement Center—a collaboration with the National Security Agency that evolved into APL’s LIVE Lab delivering cyber situational awareness. She was a cofounder of the Cyber Innovation Center advancing computer security technologies in APL’s network. At APL since 1984, she has served in numerous leadership and supervisory roles, including as managing executive of the Applied Information Sciences Department. Ms. Gregg served on the Threat Reduction Advisory Committee, the board of advisors for the National Institute for Hometown Security, and on the Naval Studies Board. In 2022, she received the Federal 100 Award. She earned a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in mathematics from the ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ University.
