Water on Land: Quality and Quantity
Course overview
You¡¯ll acquire scientific background and knowledge of both surface water and groundwater. You¡¯ll look at their variability and characteristics and the relationship between human activities and water resources.

What you will learn
After successfully completing this course, you¡¯ll be able to:
- Explain how natural physical, chemical and biological processes affect terrestrial freshwater resources.
- Describe the effects of agriculture on freshwater resources in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
- Demonstrate competence in measurement of river discharge, key water quality variables and collection of freshwater samples in the field and their analysis in the laboratory.
- Compile a report on the composition of freshwater resources and analyse the main drivers behind localised differences.
