You¡¯ll be given a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of a multitude of water resource topics that will enable you to become an effective water resource manager.

What you will learn

After successfully completing this course, you¡¯ll be able to:

  1. Describe and explain why freshwater resources are vulnerable to change, and the consequences of this change.
  2. Identify how water resources are currently managed, nationally and internationally.
  3. Analyse how conflicts arise in resource use and how resolutions and agreement can be sought.
  4. Recognise the relevance of specialist skills (e.g. in aspects of science, engineering, environmental planning) in the resolution of freshwater resource management issues, and be able to contribute effectively to an interdisciplinary team working on water resource issues.
  5. Understand the importance of quantitative measurements of resource quality, to assess change.
  6. Communicate water resource concepts constructively and effectively, without bias, to a range of audiences.
